In 1910, bitter, chain-smoking Carl Hedlund serves as the “shepherd” aboard a rusting dreadnought adrift in the Bermuda Triangle. His mission: oversee a secret ritual known only as the cynomancy, a brutal form of divination using human pawns.
As whispers echo through the steel corridors and paranoia consumes the crew, one of the captives reaches out, and something human flickers in Hedlund’s steely resolve, trapping him between a ritual he no longer believes in and one he’s forbidden to love.
But the cynomancy does not tolerate hesitation. The cult is always watching, and mercy is the quickest way to drown.
And drowning, it turns out, is only the beginning.
