Marjorie Young, an intelligent but snobby aristocrat, is ordered to track down her flighty compatriot to salvage her family’s reputation. To make it quick and painless, she hires the assistance of two career criminals in the lawless bordering nation. The longer the hunt endures, the more engaged Marjorie becomes in the petty politics of her continent. Hopping from country to country, bumping into the highest offices of governance and the lowest crevices of hidden societies, she unveils a diabolical plot to upend the hegemony of her home state; learning that her own family isn’t so squeaky clean.
